Our December Event, Wigs and Wine: Learn How to Taste Like a Rockstar!

Wigs and Wine: Learn How to Taste Like a Rockstar
Friday, December 12th at 6:30pm at Epernay Wines

24 ladies will have the “opportunity of a lifetime” to rub elbows with Wine Rockstars! Celebrities like Cher-donnay, Guns n’ Rosé’s and Pinot Grigi-GoGo’s will be in attendance.

Do you think there is nothing to do on the island right now?  Well, this is the time of year we form new friendships, invite friends into our homes to share food and drink and form a new book club (AKA wine tasting group). Ladies, let’s be honest.  Wine off the shelf just will not cut it.  Those are no more memorable

Attend our December event and learn Three “SRO” Standing Room Only Rules of Wine Tasting that will sure to impress at the next cocktail party and be easy on your purse for those Louboutins or to stock your wine cellar for winter.

This is the highest-level, best-in-class tasting event that will help you to debut as a ROCKSTAR wine taster.  Dress the part of becoming a ROCKSTAR of wine, so put on that wig and dress as your favorite Female Rocker (Chian-teena Marie or Syrah Vaughan). Enjoy the art of wine tasting as we indulge our taste buds through a selection of wines produced by Female Winemakers.

You will learn what to look for in the glass once the wine is poured, how to properly swirl and smell different aromas, along with how to taste for a plethora of flavors and the structural components of wine.  Just like any concert, this is going to last a few hours and we will put you to the test and see how you perform in your encore.

Our hostess for the evening who will teach you all this and more:

Jenny Benzie, the Iron Maiden of  Épernay Wine & Spirits, is one of few women in North America who holds her accreditation as Advanced Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers and has been featured in Wine Spectator, Palm Beach Illustrated and N Magazine.  As a Certified Wine Educator, she has taught thousands of people how to easily master the basic principles of wine tasting.

THIS EVENT IS LIMITED – Don’t miss this great opportunity to learn from an Expert!

As a member and friend of Petticoat Row, you are invited to attend for FREE.  There is NO FEE REQUIRED (plus you can bring some friends along), but you must RSVP to get on the list.  Call (508) 228-2755 or email Jenny at benzie@epernaywines.com

Don’t be the last to reserve your spot to be the breakout Rockstar, lock down the “SRO” Rules of Wine Tasting while networking, laughing and enjoying a night out with other Nantucket women in business.

Light snacks will be provided by Jenny Bence, Owner of The Green, Nantucket’s Organic and Natural Eatery for Conscious Eating.

Parking is available behind Épernay Wine & Spirits (enter through the back door) or street parking on Easton and South Beach Streets.  A raffle of prizes will be held and don’t forget to bring your business cards.

A Warm Thank You

On Tuesday, April 15th, we held a fundraiser for Claudia Kronenberg Douty and her family at the Rose and Crown. The event once again showed just how much support there is in our tiny community when one of us is in need. Claudia had been fighting breast cancer gracefully for a few years, and her recent passing shocked us all. She was a generous and kind woman, a mother to 3 smart children, a wife, a sister, and a successful photographer on Nantucket. We want to thank everyone who participated and donated.

April Event, PASCON Fundraiser

Please join us Tuesday, April 15th at the Rose & Crown from 7-10pm.

We are holding a fundraiser for PASCON, Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket, which is “a specialized health care program dedicated to providing excellent physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care for persons with life-threatening illness and their families”. This is an organization which is helping our loved ones, and may help any one of us at any time. It’s a great cause.

If you would like to donate to our silent auction, please contact Zofia at info@petticoatrow.com.

To help spread the word, share this post, like us on Facebook and share the event poster. Thank you!

Our April 15th PASCON event was quickly converted to an fundraising silent auction to raise money for Claudia Kronenberg Douty and her family, as she had fallen ill and has since passed. We appreciate all the support the community gave for this turn, the event, and the family. Thank you.
